Dear NYS COVID-19 Vaccine Provider:

On January 7, 2022, the CDC updated the recommendation for receipt of a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine following receipt of the Moderna primary series. CDC now recommends receipt of a booster dose at least five months after completing their Moderna primary series. This previously recommended interval was at least six months. CDC previously updated the booster dose recommendation for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine from six months to five months following the primary series on January 4. This five-month booster interval is also applicable to persons seeking an mRNA vaccine booster after receiving a completed primary series of a WHO emergency use listing COVID-19 vaccine that is not approved or authorized by FDA.

Attached are updated documents:

Thank you for your ongoing participation in the COVID-19 Vaccination Program.
