Working Together for Physicians and our Patients
This week, a dedicated group of MSSNY members joined our government affairs staff for the Legislative and Physician Advocacy meeting to discuss our legislative priorities in advance of next year’s session. The robust meeting—which focused on issues that impact New York physicians and our patients—included input from MSSNY members from every region of our state as well as county medical society leaders and specialty society representatives.
As former chair of this committee, I recognize the hard work and commitment that goes into this undertaking on the part of the committee members. We began this week’s meeting with a legislative review and a discussion of the remaining bills to be sent to the governor, and then moved on to a discussion of what MSSNY’s legislative priorities should be for 2024.
I look forward to meeting again next month to finalize MSSNY’s 2024 legislative agenda before it goes to Council for approval. When we all work together, great things can happen. As Henry Ford once famously said, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
