We Must Make the Wrongful Death Bill Right
The physicians of New York cannot rest until we make the wrongful death bill right.
We must work together to convince the Governor to veto the wrongful death bill. When members of our community pulled together last week, one small idea to create a ripple effect became a tsunami of phone calls and advocacy efforts. Thank you to our members, leaders, staff, and executive directors for their tremendous and coordinated efforts to call the Governor’s office to urge her to veto the wrongful death bill. Physicians are joined by businesses, defense lawyers, mayors, and the entire healthcare community in our alarm regarding the adverse consequence to all New Yorkers because of this bill.
The Wrongful Death/ Grieving Families Act in its current form will have devastating outcomes for all New Yorkers. We must continue to urge the Governor to veto the Wrongful Death bill before she acts on it in the coming weeks. Call 518-474-8390 and press option 3. Then press option 1 to leave a voicemail or option 2 to speak with an operator. Please also send a letter urging a veto here.
Together, we can make New York a better place to practice medicine.
