Tomorrow, Saturday, November 4, I hope you’ll join the Medical, Education and Science Foundation (MESF) and the Medical Society of the State of New York for the Women Physicians Leadership Academy (WPLA)—a series of virtual leadership webinars for physicians, residents, and medical students. This is the third and final webinar in the fall series and will run from 7:45-11 am. Topics include:  effective communication, advocacy and changemaking, and leadership.  The previous two webinars have been very well attended and have received rave reviews.

A virtual spring session will be held on March 2, 9, and 16, 2024. Topics for the spring session include the importance of networking, physician wellness, and climbing the career ladder. Upon completing the fall and spring series, participants can earn 18 continuing medical education credits.

Educational objectives for the series are:

  • Describe methods to improve women physicians’ communication skills within work or professional settings, including the C-Suite.
  • Identify professional skills to enhance advocacy of self and the development of professional networking.
  • Develop leadership skills.
  • Outline methods to enhance physician wellness.
