MSSNY Member Dr. Simon Kokkinakis Named Medical Staff President at Richmond University Medical Center
MSSNY member Simon Kokkinakis, MD, has been named President of the Medical Staff at Richmond University Medical Center on Staten Island. An obstetrician-gynecologist who has cared for patients at the hospital since 2006, Dr. Kokkinakis began his two-year term on July 1 and will serve as the liaison between the hospital’s more than 400-member medical staff, executive leadership, and Board of Trustees. A past president of the Richmond County Medical Society, he has also served as Chair of Richmond University Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has held numerous leadership positions in organized medicine and medical education.
“I am eager to represent the medical staff at RUMC, I want to be their biggest advocate ensuring their voices are heard,” Kokkinakis said. “When change occurs, it is important to have a positive outlook and keep morale high.
