Cohen: Medicare Cuts Threaten Patient Care if Not Addressed

The Medical Society of the State of New York is among the organizations announcing support for the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act. MSSNY President Dr. Jerome Cohen noted that Congress failed to tackle this issue during debate over a continuing resolution late last year, highlighting the importance of addressing cuts in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. “After facing Medicare cuts in each of the previous four years, and at a time when we are facing significant access to care issues across New York state, the lack of action by Congress to fix this problem has the potential to worsen seniors’ access to comprehensive care,” he said.
