Your MSSNY leadership has engaged in productive dialogue with CIGNA over their recent announcement of a downcoding policy. As a result, CIGNA has indicated that they will comply with New York State laws requiring physicians to be notified when they are being compared against their peers and inform all providers subject to this downcoding of their status and their appeal rights. Please see copies of the MSSNY/CIGNA correspondence via the hyperlinks below:
Your MSSNY leadership continues to ask for your aid; please let us know if you are experiencing violations of this newly laid out and more tailored policy resulting from our efforts. When we have sufficient examples of any violation(s), we will not hesitate to meet with CIGNA leadership on your behalf, and if not resolved, consider all avenues to advocate on behalf of our members and their patients. Please share examples of any violations with Heather Lopez at [email protected].
