MSSNY’s Committee for Physician Health Provides Confidential, Non-Disciplinary Assistance to Physicians, Residents, Medical Students and Physician Assistants
Established in 1974, the Committee for Physician Health (CPH) supports the health and professional well-being of physicians, residents, medical students, and physician assistants across New York State. Since its inception, CPH has assisted more than 7,600 physicians. Today, CPH monitors the recovery of approximately 300 physicians and contacts more than 100 physicians each year who may be struggling with substance use disorders or mental health conditions. Through early intervention, monitoring, and advocacy, CPH helps physicians access appropriate care while promoting patient safety and professional accountability.
