- What do you love most about being a physician?
I love coming to work every day to help people. Being a very social person, I enjoy having conversations with my patients and learning about them over time. It is an honor to have the ability to save a patient’s life or help them make a meaningful change that will make a lasting impact on their health.
- What’s your favorite part of being a member of MSSNY and/or your county society?
My favorite part of being an MSSNY member is the opportunity to influence how medicine is practiced in the state – both protecting current practices and helping the field evolve safely. As for my county society, I appreciate the chance to get to know physicians from all specialties in my area. It’s wonderful to network with them and hear their thoughts on the local state of medicine.
- How do you define success?
Success for me is a constantly evolving target. Right now, success is helping my community be healthier, making it through residency, and taking care of my family.
- Tell us about something you enjoy outside of work, a cause you support, a hobby, a family activity, or anything else that is important to you.
Before starting residency, I founded a nonprofit to help unmatched graduates gain clinical experience and get into residency. There’s no better feeling in the world than spreading hope.
- What’s your favorite way to unwind and de-stress after a busy day?
I like to meditate and spend time with my baby girl.
- What was the last book you read? Tell us something about it.
Currently, my reading is focused on medicine. I just bought and started a dermoscopy textbook; I’m enjoying learning about different skin pathologies.
