MSSNY President Weighs in on Change Data Breach 

Federal regulators have agreed that UnitedHealth and its Change Healthcare unit can directly notify patients affected by its massive cybersecurity failure earlier this year, bypassing the usual requirement that providers notify patients of any data breach. “This should be on Change Healthcare to do this because this is a breach that happened on their watch, on their systems and because of problems that happened at their end,” said Dr. Jerome Cohen, president of the Medical Society of the State of New York.
