Join Us in Albany on March 12th to Fight Back against Unfair Budget Cuts
The Executive Budget seeks to impose huge new costs on physicians, cut funding for important programs, and expand scope of practice for non-physicians. It’s important—now more than ever—for us to come together with our physician colleagues to make our voices heard.
I hope you’ll join me and physicians from all around the state in Albany on March 12 for MSSNY’s annual Physician Advocacy Day. We will have the opportunity to speak directly with our Senators and Assemblymembers about a variety of issues, including how the Governor’s Budget is going to harm patient access to community-based physician care.
After a few years of virtual Advocacy Days due to the pandemic and weather-related issues, I’m looking forward to connecting in person this year. We will gather at the Empire State Plaza (The Egg) in Albany that morning at 7:45 and will hear from legislative leaders, including New York State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald. In the afternoon, we will meet with our respective legislators in meetings organized by county medical societies.
In addition to State Budget issues, we will be advocating for policies that address public health threats, reduce medical liability costs, remove barriers to patients accessing needed care, and reduce prior authorization and claim payment hassles.
Please plan to join me and hundreds of your colleagues from around the state in Albany on March 12th!

Final Weeks of Session Brings Numerous Concerning Scope Expansion Bills The recently enacted State Budget importantly rejected numerous proposals that would have threatened patient safety by removing the important oversight and/or collaboration that physicians provide in the delivery of patient care.
