Issues with Insurers? MSSNY Recoups Over $8.5 Million for Members

Colleagues:

As physicians, we know all too well that issues with insurance companies have an impact on patient care. Insurance denials overwhelm both us and our office staff as we fight to ensure that our patients get the care they need and deserve.

MSSNY’s Division of Physician Payment and Practice is here to help our members. Over the last two years, the division has dealt with over 1,700 different issues and has recouped over $8.5 million for our members from medical insurance providers.

Heather Lopez, MSSNY’s Director of Physician Payment & Practice, is essential in delivering these victories for our physicians. These victories have led to financial relief for physicians in all types of practice environments and it is a vital service that we provide at MSSNY.

The division works closely with insurance companies to resolve issues, including prior authorization matters, on behalf of MSSNY members. When not satisfied with the responses, they go directly to the appropriate regulator, including the Department of Financial Services, Department of Labor or Department of Health, on behalf of our physicians.

Please reach out to Physician Payment and Practice for assistance in practice management, CPT/ICD10 coding, contract negotiation, billing, insurance barriers, and reimbursement methodology.

If you are not already a MSSNY member, you are missing out on this invaluable service. Contact [email protected] to join today.

Don’t Miss Out on Exclusive Access to CMS/NGS!

Monthly Meeting Time Change: CMS/NGS is enhancing member access by adjusting the schedule for their monthly meetings. Starting December 12th, these meetings will now occur from 12-1 pm on every second Tuesday of the month. This change ensures our members can conveniently address their questions and concerns. Please share this information with your office and billing staff, as this is a unique benefit exclusive to our members. This opportunity is invaluable because many physicians and their teams need more direct access to CMS and NGS, so be sure to take advantage of it!
