Use of Novavax and J&J Vaccines in the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Ending
Novavax 2/28/2023 expiration date and end of shipping
The current supply of Novavax vaccine (NDC 80631-0100-10) will expire February 28, 2023, and stop shipping at the end of January. Shelf-life extensions are not expected. If you need Novavax, please place your order in NYSIIS by Friday, January 27th. No additional supply is expected at this time.

J&J in inventory 2/28/2023 expiration date
All J&J inventory in provider storage is set to expire by February 28, 2022. Be sure to dates prior to administration. Recheck the expiry for any extensions prior to discarding (none are anticipated at this time). Once the expiration date passes, be sure to dispose of as medical waste and report unused doses as wastage in NYSIIS.
There is a limited supply of J&J with May expiration dates at the distribution center, which will likely begin shipping in February, if new supply is needed.
Pfizer 12+ monovalent EUA to BLA Label Transition
Pfizer 12+ monovalent vaccine EUA-labeled vaccine is expected to be depleted soon. The EUA-labeled product (NDC 59267-1025-04) will no longer be available for ordering after 1/30/2023. Any provider inventory can continue being administered. On 1/31/2023 will transition to the BLA-labeled (COMIRNATY) product (NDC 00069-2025-10) for ordering, which is interchangeable with the EUA-labeled product and has received the same shelf-life extension. Providers ordering the Pfizer 12+ monovalent after 1/30/2023 should be mindful of the NDC change and update their EMR and/or ensure correct NDC when reporting doses administered in NYSIIS so inventory deducts properly.
REMINDER: Please continue to check expiration dates for all COVID-19 vaccine products when you receive new inventory and before you discard vaccine that you believe has expired.
