Nomination Period Open for PCMP Breast Cancer Screening Clinician Expert Workgroup
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and its measure developer are seeking nominations for the Clinician Expert Workgroup that will provide input on the development of the Breast Cancer Screening episode-based cost measure for potential use in the Quality Payment Program (QPP). The nomination period opened this week, and interested clinicians are invited to submit nominations between now and June 23, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET, with the first workgroup meeting scheduled to occur in July 2025.
Clinicians interested in joining the Wave 7 Breast Cancer Screening workgroup may submit their nomination through the online nomination form.
Please note, this workgroup nomination period is for the breast cancer screening measure being specified as a cost measure at the clinician/group-level. Separately, CMS is also hosting the OP-39 Re-Specification TEP, which is working on facility-based quality measurement for breast cancer screening. There are no restrictions to participating in this upcoming Clinician Expert Workgroup if you are also interested in participating in the OP-39 Re-Specification TEP (under the “Development, Reevaluation, and Implementation of Outpatient Outcome/Efficiency Measures” project). While these two measures are clinically related topics, the clinician expert panels will be developing different types of measures (cost vs. quality) for different settings (clinician/groups vs. facilities).
For more information, please refer to the Call for Nominations posting website or the nomination form. If you have any questions or would like to request a 508-compliant version of the nomination form, please contact the Acumen PCMP Workgroup Support Team at [email protected].
