Fall is a season for change.  The leaves will turn glorious colors and start to fall, pumpkin spice will be everywhere, children will go to their doctor for back-to-school check-ups and vaccines, and monthly Medical Matters CME webinars are back.  Learn more about the importance of immunizations and the decline in routine vaccines because of the COVID pandemic by registering for A Primer on Immunizations: Importance, Hesitancy & Decline on September 18th at 7:30am.  William Valenti, MD chair of MSSNY Infectious Diseases Committee will serve as faculty for this webinar.  Register now

Educational Objectives are:

  • Examine the public health triumphs of vaccinations through a historical lens with a focus on lives saved because of immunizations
  • Outline the advent of “vaccine hesitancy” and examine ways to discuss it without putting onus on patients
  • Identify areas in which vaccine rates have declined, and describe strategies to improve vaccination rates with a goal of herd immunity moving forward
