3 Data Management Lessons Healthcare Should Learn from Other Industries
Health providers must effectively manage a vast profusion of shared data between providers, payers, digital health startups, and government agencies. The industry could learn from the data management strategies implemented by the military, aerospace, and aviation sectors, which have all developed ways to standardize data, decrease silos, and make information more accessible between organizations. The author identifies three key steps to manage data effectively. She believes in prioritizing data standardization, abandoning the “need-to-know” mindset, and designating data governance roles.
