Together, We Will Achieve Great Things

Colleagues:

As I begin my term as President of the Medical Society of the State of New York, I look forward to working with all MSSNY members. It is with great pride that I accept the honor of occupying this role. I have been an active member of MSSNY for over thirty-five years. Through my work as the PAC Vice-Chair, Chair of both the Federal and the State Legislation Committees, Councilor for Nassau County, and Vice President of MSSNY, I have always valued the time and effort that our members dedicate to evolving our profession.

During my time as president, I aspire to foster an open line of trust and communication with the presidents and representatives of the county medical societies to address their needs. As we have seen in the past, we can accomplish great things when we work together. Moving forward, I aim to strengthen the relationships of those in leadership roles at the county and state levels to meet the needs of all our members and empower physicians to improve the quality of patient care.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the President of MSSNY and for all the individuals who have supported me throughout my career and will continue to support me in this role. The amazing work that the staff at MSSNY has done thus far is only a small window into the ways that they will aid in my presidency in the upcoming year. Thank you to those at the Nassau County Medical Society who have propelled and uplifted me during my time as President of both the Society and the Nassau Academy of Medicine. There is no member at the county or state level who is playing a small part in what we do to protect our profession; I hope my actions as President of MSSNY will express a fraction of my gratitude to all those who are called beyond their practice to participate in our organization.

May this be a year of endless opportunity and prosperity for the Medical Society of the State of New York. Together, we will achieve great things.

Paul A. Pipia, MD
President
