
N.Y. Lawmakers Seek to Boost State Vaccine Authority
New York lawmakers are working on a bill to grant the state Health Department more authority over vaccine recommendations in response to federal changes that have limited COVID-19 vaccine access for certain groups. “If we can’t get good guidance from the federal government, we should take ownership and make sure that we protect the citizens of New York,” says Dr. David Jakubowicz, president of the Medical Society of the State of New York.
