Your Medical Practice is at Risk! Take Action to Protect It
For the third consecutive year, legislation to greatly expand damages awardable in wrongful death lawsuits has passed the Legislature and will soon reach Governor Hochul. The Governor has wisely vetoed similar legislation because of concerns about its impact on New York’s already straining health care system, but that is not a guarantee she will do that again. Unfortunately, this year’s bill (S8485-B/A9232-B) threatens to do the same—pushing costs even higher and jeopardizing patient access to care.
Even in its revised form, this bill could have devastating consequences for patient access to care. Contact Governor Hochul now and urge her to veto this harmful legislation before it’s too late. Use the MSSNY Grassroots Action Center or call her office at 518-474-8390 today. Don’t wait—your practice, your colleagues, and your patients are counting on you!
