MSSNY Recovers More Than $17M in Denied Claims

The Medical Society of the State of New York has recovered more than $17 million in denied claims, with $9 million coming from claims wrongfully categorized as experimental and $7.5 million from clawbacks of settled claims, which is prohibited under state law. MSSNY also recovered $300,000 from payers related to claims that weren’t paid after third-party arbitrators had determined they must go through the Independent Dispute Resolution process.
