Honoring MSSNY Member Dr. Hari Krishna Shukla for His Humanitarian Contributions

The New York State Senate has honored MSSNY Member Dr. Hari Krishna Shukla with the prestigious Liberty Medal, the highest accolade bestowed upon an individual by the State Senate. Dr. Shukla’s remarkable humanitarian efforts span decades, including providing machinery to Bhuj, India after the 2001 earthquake, collecting medical supplies for tsunami-affected areas in Sri Lanka, and aiding Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.

Dr. Shukla, a pediatrician who served Queens, NY, for over 20 years, has dedicated his career to enhancing healthcare, especially for premature infants. His groundbreaking work includes developing a new formula for umbilical venous catheters used worldwide.

In addition to his medical innovations, Dr. Shukla has significantly impacted the community through his private practice, serving thousands of South Asian children in Queens, and his leadership in various humanitarian initiatives.
