New Ciprofloxacin Guidance for Meningococcal Disease

The NYS Department of Health and NYC Health Department now advise against using ciprofloxacin for post-exposure prophylaxis in meningococcal disease due to rising resistance. Providers should use alternatives like rifampin, ceftriaxone, or azithromycin.
