MSSNY: Grieving Families Act Would Have Added Liabilities for Practices

The Medical Society of the State of New York opposed the Grieving Families Act, noting that it would have added significant liabilities for medical practices, a concern Gov. Kathy Hochul echoed in her veto message. MSSNY has been concerned that the bill’s provisions could financially burden physicians, with President Dr. David Jakubowicz saying that “New York has a reputation for a world-class health care system, but also a reputation for being one of the worst states in the country in which to be a physician.”
