MSSNY Participates in Doctors Back to School Program
On May 12, MSSNY participated in Doctors Back to School, a program led by the American Medical Association and its Minority Affairs Section to address racial and ethnic health disparities. This program encourages physicians and medical students to visit schools in underserved communities, particularly those with high minority populations, to engage with students and educate them about the opportunities and importance of pursuing careers in healthcare. Through these school visits, the program aims to empower and support underrepresented students in pursuing a medical career, contributing to a more equitable and inclusive healthcare system. By fostering early exposure and mentorship, the initiative aims to inspire students from diverse backgrounds to consider healthcare professions, ultimately working towards reducing health disparities and increasing diversity in the medical field.
