A Victory for Physicians
Recently, Cigna announced that beginning on 5/25/23 any claim with the modifier 25 must include medical records for processing. In response, MSSNY, the AMA, and other organizations worked together to advocate for physician offices. MSSNY wrote a letter expressing concern about the added burden this would place on already overwhelmed office staff. The potential implementation of this requirement would have only added to the already existing administrative burden. However, we are happy to report that Cigna will not proceed with the implementation. MSSNY will continue to fight for what is best for your practice.
