PRACTICE RESOURCES

Continuing Medical Education

The Medical Society of the State of New York is committed to supporting a statewide system of continuing medical education in order to assure the highest quality medical care practiced by physicians in New York State.

The Medical Society of the State of New York is recognized by the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the national organization that develops standards for quality continuing medical education, to accredit organizations that provide CME in the state of New York and it contiguous states.

The Medical Society of the State of New York is accredited by the ACCME as an Accredited Provider. As such, MSSNY develops educational programming for physicians (directly sponsored) on topics important to NYS physicians in a variety of formats designed to educate the adult learner.  MSSNY also works with non-accredited providers (jointly sponsored) to accredit educational interventions statewide, nationally and world-wide.

It is MSSNY’s mission to provide physicians with the means to address competence and performance gaps in their delivery of high quality medical care, by utilizing innovative and conventional educational intervention formats and modes to provide and evaluate continuing medical education.

Information on the MSSNY Continuing Medical Education Program can be obtained from the links on this page and the MSSNY Office of CME at (518) 465-8085.
