Planning for the 2022 House of Delegates continues and we write to provide you with some additional dates which you may want to place on your calendar.
The House of Delegates will begin promptly at 8 AM on Saturday, May 21 and will continue until late afternoon. General session will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown. At that time, we will discuss the completed reference committee reports and the recommendations made within them. While we will make every effort to complete discussion of our ref com reports on Saturday, we will not stifle discussion to achieve adjournment on Saturday.
The schedule of HOD deadlines and activities thus far – which could change as necessity requires – is as follows:
January 27 Credentialing of Delegates is due
Send credentialing to: MReyes@mssny.org
(Speaker will be appointing reference committees by February 11)
February 25 Deadline for resolution submissions
Send resolutions to: LMayer@mssny.org
(Items submitted after this date must pass Rules Committee acceptance)
March 18 Resolutions posted to MSSNY website
April 4-14 Virtual reference committee hearings
(Day and time to be determined)
May 6 Reference Committee reports posted to MSSNY website
(Comments can be posted for resolutions)
May 21 House of Delegates convenes, 8AM
Because we are planning for full, in-person participation by our delegates, your Speakers have decided we will not utilize the Resolution Review Committee (RRC) this year. However, if the volume of resolutions increases markedly over last year, we may consider reinstating the RRC.
We ask that resolutions submitted are properly formatted, well thought out and constructed, and any research to document the author’s resolved clause is included. This is a substantial help to reference committee staff. Authors should include policy citations from MSSNY’s position statements as well.
MSSNY leadership is monitoring the latest COVID variant and are aware it could affect our ability to hold a live, in-person event. We will certainly keep you apprised of any developments as they affect our Annual HOD.
With our very best wishes for the holidays and the New Year. Thank you, for all you do every day. Be safe, healthy, and happy.
