NYS Physicians Practices Begin to
Receive COVID-19 Vaccine
Physicians are Encouraged
to Take NYS DOH Survey
Today,
the Medical Society of the State of New York was notified by the New York State
Department of Health that 27,100 Moderna doses were allocated to 190 enrolled
COVID-19 providers. All physicians and other providers that pre-booked Moderna
were given 100 doses. An additional 100 doses were given to practices that were
identified by the Local Health Departments (LHDs) as preferred partners and/or had
high patient volumes.
This
is good news! MSSNY has long advocated for physicians to receive the vaccine to
immunize their patients and this is an important step in helping to stop the
pandemic.
In
anticipation of increased supply, New York State is undertaking efforts to
collect information from enrolled providers. This information is critical to
understand how to best expand the supply flow.
